No longer a legal crossing point: A teenager herds horses across the Rio Grande into the Mexican state of Coahuila from Big Bend National Park. American tourists and Mexican villagers used to cross the river at Boquillas, which was a loosely enforced Class B port of entry and popular tourist destination. Such crossings are no longer permitted, but residents of Boquillas continue to cross from time to time with their livestock.
