A tattoo spelling of the nickname "Whitey" is a permanent reminder to Joan Kloh of a former boyfriend who used to give her heroin and methamphetamines and is now in prison on drug charges. As part of her recovery program, a councilor asked her if she was prepared for what she would do if Whitey ever knocked on her door. "I really hope I would be strong enough to tell him to go away, but it's hard to know, I just hope".
