Rural/Metro paramedic Jason Grooms arrives on scene at St. Vincent de Paul Village as San Diego Fire-Rescue firefighters attend to a man as he gains consciousness from having multiple seizures . The man has a history of substance abuse and other ailments and although he is in treatment at Saint Vincent Depaul Villages, remains a frequent flyer to the emergency room. Engine company 7 is located near East Village, a sector of the city known to have a high amount of homelessness, substance abuse, and frequent users of emergency services. It is not unusual for the crew to respond to 911 calls for the same person multiple times in one day.
